In December 2011, Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (PMNCH) with World Health Organization, Aga Khan University and 14 partners shared the first ever consensus and evidence-based list in a report called: Essential Interventions, Commodities and Guidelines for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH). Its aim is to support policy makers and RMNCH advocates and program implementers in the development of guidelines, policies and programs to improve the health of women and children. The document provides information on key selected RMNC survival interventions that should be made available to women and children, as well as information on the type of professional health worker required for their delivery, key commodities required; and corresponding available guidelines.
