This free online course – the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) – is a step-by-step training for public health researchers and decision-makers, disease control programme managers, academics and others that focuses on designing and demonstrating robust implementation research (IR) projects that can make proven health interventions more widely available to people at risk of diseases of poverty.
The new IR training was developed by TDR and refined through two years of pilot testing with country-based researchers and decision-makers.
Registration is now open for this first official course on 17 May.
What you will learn from MOOCAs a course participant, you will have access to leading world experts who will take you through the core concepts of IR, including how to:
- Identify the challenges of various health settings;
- Assess the appropriateness of existing strategies;
- Develop new interventions and strategies by working with communities and stakeholders;
- Specify your IR questions; and
- Design rigorous research projects. You will learn how to identify IR outcomes, evaluate effectiveness, and make plans to scale-up implementation in real life settings.
No technical or scientific background is needed to take the training although a health background will be an advantage.
MOOC is English with subtitles in English, French and Spanish.
