The Next Generation Scientist (NGS) Program is a university accredited annual 3-month research internship for Masters, PhD and post-doctoral level scientists and clinicians from low- and middle-income (LMIC) countries. The program was initiated in 2011 and is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of experienced Pharma and University scientists. Web-link to 1-min video What is NGS? More info www.novartis.com
Application deadline - November 30th 2018
The 3 month program (1 June to 31 August), hosted at our research site in Basel, Switzerland, is designed to foster both their scientific and professional development. Guided by Novartis mentors, the interns work on a jointly-agreed upon, pre-competitive scientific or clinical research project and also participate in a leadership development program designed to enhance decision-making and communication skills. The program is run jointly by Novartis and the University of Basel. This internship aims to build scientific and leadership capability in emerging countries by enhancing the skills of local scientists and by facilitating the knowledge transfer to their wider scientific communities upon their return home. An internship is possible in any of the broad range of therapeutic areas in which Novartis is involved.

i am Ifeoma Ndubuisi. A PhD student of Nursing sciences in University of Nigeria, Nsukka. I would have loved to be part of the 2019 next generation scientist intern.
My challenge is that my course of specialty is not listed in the preferred areas of interest.I am interested in adolescent education and counselling and the leadership development program will help me enhance my decision-making and effective communication skills and be bale to impart it on others.
I want to ask if there other intern programs I may apply for that will help me achieve my goal, or should I apply for this one.Thankd
