Executive summary
The Next Generation Scientist (NGS) Program is a university accredited annual 3-month research internship for Masters, PhD and post-doctoral level scientists and clinicians from low and middle-income (LMIC) countries. The program wasinitiated in 2011 and is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of experienced Pharma and University scientists.
Program Overview
- Increase the volume and quality of healthcare research in previously underserved parts of the world
- Educate and train motivated scientists and clinicians who plan to contribute toward strengthening healthcare systems in their home countries
- Enhance scientific leadership skills and expose interns to state-of-the-art research methodologies and leading experts while ensuring implementation within home infrastructure
- Identify strategic partnerships with academic and research institutions in low and middle income countries
