OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
The Regional Office for Africa (AFRO), based in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, is one of the six regions of the World Health Organization (WHO). AFRO is responsible for 47 of the 54 countries in Africa. The regional office plans and executes WHO's work in these countries and supports Member States to attain the highest possible level of health for all people.
 
The Internship and Volunteer Programme in the African Region provides opportunities for graduate and postgraduate students to gain an insight into the work of the Organization, while enriching their knowledge and experience in the field of health, thereby contributing to the advancement of population health.
 
Objectives of the Internship Programme:a) To provide a framework for assigning students from diverse academic backgrounds to WHO programmes that can enhance their educational experience through practical assignments;b) To expose students to the work of WHO;c) To provide WHO programmes with input from students specializing in various fields. Most students are placed in health-related programmes, although other disciplines can be considered as appropriate.

    Dear Scholarship Committee,
    I am writing regarding the WHO Internship/Volunteer Application - Winter 2016 listed on your website. I feel I am a phenomenal candidate for the scholarship because I desire to make a positive difference in the world around me. Continuing my education in pursuit of my Internship will allow me to do just that.
    I desire to pursue WHO Internship I want to help people in my community by providing them with the necessary resources and assistance to positively impact their lives before lack Nutritional problem happen and after happen. As this WHO Internship would positively impact my life and help me pursue my goals and dreams, I want to give back by doing the same for the people I serve within the community.
    Continuing on my journey of excellence by obtaining my WHO Internship will allow me to help East Africa Community where Public Health management not enough in our academic institution and to truly make life better for the people around me, need Public Health disasters intervention. My desire to learn and grow will allow me to put your Internship funds to good use. I also plan on volunteering with organizations to help with community efforts and serve others during my time in Internship.
