The Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research (GFMER) in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and other partners announces a series of online training courses in the field of sexual and reproductive health and research for 2018.
These courses provide health professionals with knowledge, skills and competencies in sexual and reproductive health, as well as research in this field, especially for those health care providers whose access to learning is limited by time, financial resources or other constraints and for whom access to quality education in the field of sexual and reproductive health is limited. With this training program, participants will learn first-hand about the day-to-day and long-term challenges in the field of sexual and reproductive health and research.
Courses
- Adolescent Sexual and reproductive health (14 May – 6 July 2018)
- Research methodology and research protocol development (16 July – 7 September 2018)
- Sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS (10 September – 2 November 2018)
- Family planning (5 November – 28 December 2018)
Each course is a 8-week distance learning online training in different topics. Eligible candidates are all health professionals, paramedical staff, project planners and managers in health-related areas and social scientists.
Course structure consists of lectures, presentations, links to resource documents and recommended readings. A personal coach is assigned to each course participant and facilitates the learning process.
Certification
At the end of each course, the participants are required to complete multiple-choice questions and submit a paperwork assignment with the assistance of their tutor. The successful participants will be rewarded a certificate.
