The pharmacy plays an important role research. This includes initial set up of the pharmacy to receive the Investigational products, write up of all SOP's regarding the handling and storage of IP's and developement of a pharmacy plan to operationalize how activites will be done on the study in regard to pharmacy.
Basically plan from ordering, shipment,clearance at entry port, transport to the research pharmacy,storage as per the manufacturer conditions, monitoring of storage conditions, preparation for the IP / Dispensing, quarantine of expired / unused products,disposal of the study products / return to the sponsor and final close out of the study.
All this is done by the pharmacy and we need to come up with such training that is all inclusive.
