About: Alper Sonmez, MD, is a professor of medicine at Ankara Guven Hospital. His clinical research interest focuses on the role of inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, and insulin resistance in chronic metabolic disorders, primarily diabetes mellitus, obesity, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. He is the coordinator of the TEMD Study, a nationwide project to search for the demographic and clinical features of Turkish patients with diabetes. Currently, He leads the Obesity, Dyslipidemia and Hypertension study group of the Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism of TÜRKİYE.
