About: Dr. Shela Hirani is a Professor at the University of Regina (Canada) and Founding Director of the "Breastfeeding Advocacy Research Lab". She is an Internationally Certified Lactation Consultant, academician, researcher and breastfeeding advocate. Her area of speciality is child health nursing with the focus on “Early child development” and “Breastfeeding Advocacy”. She has published several papers in refereed journals pertinent to the theme of maternal and child health. Dr. Shela Hirani has served as the president of the Rho Delta Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International: An honor society of nursing, as well as led a multidisciplinary group of child health professionals.
