EVANGELIA KATAXAKI

About: Dr. Evangelia Kataxaki MD graduated from the Medical School of the University of Pavias, Italy (1990). Specialization in Rheumatology at the General Hospital of Athens (1998), and earned a PhD from the University of Athens Medical School in 2003. Earlier she received her postgraduate diploma in metabolic bone diseases from the University of Athens. From 1998 to 2000 she worked as a Researcher at the Research Laboratory of the Musculoskeletal System "I. Garopalidis ", Medical School of the University of Athens She is currently the Director of the Rheumatology at General Hospital of Elefsina <Thriasio>. She has served previously as Senior Registrar in Rheumatology and Osteoporosis Clinic at 3rd Hospital IKA She has participated in writing groups on the Regional Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Osteoporosis for Hellenic Osteoporosis (HELIOS) (2009) In 2011 she participated in an expert meeting on "The management and Cost of Osteoporosis in Greece"( Scientific research by the National School of Public Health in the Health Economics Sector) and in 2014 participated in the Development Consensus Group < 13 General Practice Guidelines for the Management of the Most Common Diseases and Health Conditions in Primary Healthcare > Medicine School of the University of Crete. She is a member of the Editorial Board of Medical Magazines and a member of the Board of Directors of various Scientific Societies, medical companies. She has publications in international and Greek magazines, participations with articles in Greek and International Congress and participation in training programs for specialized medical programs. She also participates in conferences of organizational and scientific committees Her research interests include the clinical expression, genetic predisposition and therapeutic interventions in rheumatic diseases and metabolic bone diseases. For many years she has been Treasurer and Secretary General of the Hellenic Society of Rheumatology and Professional Association of Rheumatologists (2003-2018) She has been elected Vice-President in 2019-2020 and subsequent President of the Hellenic Rheumatology Society and Professional Association of Rheumatologists (ERE-EPERE) in 2021-2022
