About: I specialized in pediatrics and its specific areas at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona between January 1992 and December 1995. After completing my formation, I worked in different neonatology units in third level hospitals in Barcelona (H. Clínic, Hospital Sant Joan de Dèu, Hospital Maternitat) and since 1997 I have been working as a neonatologist at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, where I carry out 70% of my activity in the field of care, 20% in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and the remaining time in carrying out small research projects. I have dedicated a large part of my professional career to teaching different training and educational activities and also to the implementation of diagnostic and therapeutic methods of interest in clinical practice, such as brain ultrasound, echocardiography and lung ultrasound, and to the introduction of different modes of conventional mechanical ventilation, high-frequency ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide administration. I have participated in different multicentre studies as principal investigator of the centre and as collaborating researcher in both national studies financed by public grants and international studies financed by the pharmaceutical industry. Since 2000, I have been involved in the training of students enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate and master's degree courses in the fields of neonatology, pediatric infectious diseases, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric transport. I have been an associate lecturer with a permanent contract at the Autonomous University of Barcelona since 2010. I have been a tutor for residents from 2007 to 2017. I tutor students of 5th degree in medicine and general surgery in the final degree project. I am also part of national research networks: SAMID, RETICS, SEN1500, CMV, Tuberculosis and toxoplasmosis that have conducted various studies that have been published in journals of impact. In all these studies I have collaborated with the inclusion of data from different patients treated in our center and in the review of the publications, contributing changes in the wording of the results. In 2021 I will complete my doctoral studies with the completion of my doctoral thesis "Importance of enteroviruses in neonatal sepsis" approved with Cum Laude mention.
