DR MOHAMED MUTOCHELUH
About: I am Dr Mohamed Mutocheluh. I obtained my PhD in Immunology and Infection from the School of Cancer Sciences at the University of Birmingham, UK. Currently, I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Clinical Microbiology of the School of Medical Sciences of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Tech in Kumasi, Ghana. My research group focuses on translational research related to microbial pathogens and immunity to microbial diseases, with a particular interest in human oncogenic viruses, mycotoxins, anti-viral & anti-cancer agents. My group's current projects include the following: (1) Understanding the anti-viral and anti-cancer properties of cryptolepis sanguinolenta; (2) Transforming chronic hepatitis B virus treatment by developing novel targeted immunotherapy based on a fundamental understanding of the virus immunobiology and (3) Establishing baseline data of flaviviral burden in Ghana.
