About: For almost 9 years I have been managing a DHO Unit which operates on two hospitals of the North West Tuscany USL: the Villamarina di Piombino hospital unit and the Portoferraio hospital unit, for a total catchment area of ​95,000 inhabitants The staff I manage consists of three medical managers, two nursing coordinators and 9 professional nurses. The approximate average number of patients managed annually by the Operational Unit I manage is around 380 per year for a total of over 4800 accesses per treatment and over 3800 visits per year My activity involves the coordination of other specialist branches that are part of the network of the Departmental Oncological Reference Center (C.O.R.D.) and in particular: general and breast surgery, dermato-oncology, hematology and palliative care. I am a member of the multidisciplinary cancer groups (GOM) for GU and GI cancer. I’m principal coordinator of GU group of the Oncology Department of the USL Toscana Nord-Ovest. My work also includes collaboration with non-profit associations operating in the area.
