About: A holder of Bachelor of Science degree (Hons) in Food Sciences from Egerton university, a certificate in Public Health in complex emergencies from Makerere University, good practice in disaster management certificate from the institute of leadership and management –UK, bullet proof managers course from Crestcom, USA. Ongoing Post graduate diploma in Clinical nutrition from Stonebridge UK, Masters in Epidemiology from the institute of tropical medicine and infectious diseases, master’s in public health at University of Nairobi and Biostatics from peoples University. For the last more than 15 years, I have managed large scale humanitarian and emergency nutrition and health projects among refugees and displaced populations in South Sudan, DRC, Somalia ,Ethiopia .I have worked for the United Nations World Food Programme Regional Bureau for East and Central Africa (9 countries) as a programme officer for Nutrition and Data management, World Vision International Regional offices in Africa and East Africa covering 26 Countries in various Nutrition advisory roles, UNICEF in Malawi and South Sudan, Care International, Tearfund UK South Sudan and Kenya, Agro Chemical and Food Company among others. I have attended international nutrition workshops, both as participant, speaker, organizer and a session chair in Argentina, Japan, Switzerland, United Kingdom, South Korea, Italy, USA, Canada, South Africa, Thailand, Lesotho, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, DRC, Mali, Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Swaziland, Malawi, Zambia; etc. I have conducted more than 28 Food and Nutrition assessments, coverage surveys and project evaluations in East, Southern and Central Africa and have travelled and consulted widely in more than 20 countries. I have authored/co-authored more than 30 scientific papers in journals, as abstracts for conferences, symposiums and drafted policy and advocacy papers. I have consulted for UNHCR-BMZ partnership program in Dadaab Refugee Camps in Kenya, UNICEF in South Sudan and Malawi, Tearfund UK, Ministry of Health-Sudan, European commission funded Italian foundation for climate and sustainability in Kenya and North Sudan, Save the Children –UK, Concern World Wide, Norwegian Peoples Aid, Society for international Development and corporate nutrition organizations etc. I have won major awards for significant contribution to the field of nutrition including recently being one of the 2015 winners of the Japanese Urakami Foundation for food and food culture promotion award presented at the 12th Asian nutrition congress In Yokohama, Japan( http://acn2015.org/award03.html)
