About: Isabelle Boccon-Gibod is an Immunologist and Allergologist at the Department of Internal Medicine and Clinical Immunology, at Grenoble Alpes University Hospital, France, where she is in charge of the unit of National Reference Center for Angioedema (CREAK), also ACARE center of excellence. She studied medicine at Descartes University (Paris V), before moving to Grenoble Alpes University Hospital to continue her career and receive a Master 2 in Health Engineering . For more than 17 years, she has been a Physician Expert Consultant at the Angioedema Reference Center ACARE for patients with angioedema diseases: mainly HAE, other bradykinin-mediated AE, chronic urticaria and mast cell activation diseases (MCAD). Since 2012, she has developed CSU, MCAD and HAE awareness in France through national educational therapeutic programmes for patients, licensed by Health Care Authorities. She participates in many national and international congresses and remains invested in the training of other doctors to improve their knowledge in the field of angioedema, bradykinin and mast cell-mediated diseases. Since 2005, she has also participated as an investigator in many clinical trials and research projects in these fields. Dr Boccon-Gibod’s main areas of focus include HAE, bradykinin-mediated AE, MCAD and urticaria, in which she has co-authored over 90 publications.
