About: I am a dual trained Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (Distinction), with extensive experience working with children from birth to 18 years of age, across both the public and private sectors allowing her to fully develop a holistic approach to family-centred healthcare . I have worked across many areas of nursing and midwifery, including paediatric clinical trials, oncology/haematology, neonatal intensive care (NICU) adolescent health, antenatal clinic, birth unit, and the postnatal ward. I am currently the Research Ethics and Governance Officer (Ethics) at NBMLHD. I also have a strong background in the coordination of clinical research, assisting investigators and commercial organisations to develop innovative treatment methods and improve healthcare for mothers and children. My experience in Clinical Research has enabled me to be actively involved in evidence-based medicine that can make a difference to the management of pregnancy and birth outcomes, for women and their babies. I am proficient at study start up, ethics and governance submissions, data management and verification, creation of source documents and databases, stakeholder & consumer engagement, grant writing, participant liaison, and training and mentoring new staff. I am highly proficient in medical software, clinical trial management systems and MS Office.
