About: Jana General is a queer feminist, gender justice, and right to health advocate, and human rights defender. After graduating Cum Laude with a degree in Behavioral Sciences and currently taking up Masters in Medical Anthropology from University of the Philippines – Manila, she has dedicated more than 10 years of experience in health and human rights research and community organizing. She is also a volunteer- advocate in organizations focusing on LGBTQIA+ needs, mental health, sex and reproductive health and rights, and addressing gender-based violence. She’s currently the program head for research and development and social media manager of GALANG Philippines. Jana values the importance of self-care. In her downtime, she loves dancing, taking care of her 14 cats, writing stories, and creating art on the side. When things get too overwhelming, her passion remains steadfast with her battle cry, "To love is to hope. To hope is to fight. And so, we will fight."
