Course Overview

Duration:

The course should take approximately 2 hours to complete.

Certification:

A certificate is issued once a minimum of 80% is achieved in the final quiz section.

Summary:

Even when research is conducted in well-resourced settings for diseases with predictable epidemiology, research may fail due to practical, rather than scientific or technical reasons.

The additional ‘on the ground’ challenges to conducting research during a disease outbreak should not be underestimated.  This  CREDO Logistical and Operational Planning module provides some pragmatic solutions for common logistical and operational hurdles encountered by clinical research staff working during outbreaks.

Intended Learning Objectives:

By the end of the module, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify logistical and operational barriers to implementing research during an outbreak
  2. Evaluate project plans that include operational elements
  3. Formulate mock project management documents for a research project
